WOW!House 2024

Description

Curated by the Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour, Wow!House is an annual showcase and sees the Design Avenue come to life with 19 inspirational interior and outdoor sets.

When Adẹ̀ḱ & Co Studio approached the team at Nulty to develop a lighting scheme for their Zimmer + Rohde Bedroom Suite at WOW!House 2024, they immediately accepted the invitation. Nulty said, "It's not every day that you receive a design brief that is inspired by the Glory Days of the Orient Express." Drawing on the combined expertise of LightGraphix and Casambi, Nulty were able to create a dynamic lighting system that emulates the shifting tones and patterns of daylight.

Adẹ̀kọ́ & Co Studio’s vibrant bedroom concept was envisaged by Creative Director Tolù Adẹ̀kọ́, with the lighting design reinforcing the creative vision by enhancing both the material palette and ambience, encapsulating the richness and glamour of the illustrious train. For this reason, Nulty chose a wide range of LightGraphix products for their low glare and high CRI characteristics, all from compact products.

Nulty integrated our tuneable white LD22 linear light in an elaborate coffer ceiling, finished with a faux vellum and hand-painted mahogany. Beautifully nuanced and ever-evolving, the scheme transitions between warm and cool light to subtly reference the perpetual motion of the world-famous train. LD22 offers designers a wide range of LED colours including tuneable white and RGB, mounted within a very low profile with a range of fixings, making it ideal for coffer and cove lighting.

Elsewhere in the bedroom, the team used discreet layers of light to show the materials in their best light and inject a touch of drama. Here Nulty used our expertise in creating uplights and downlights with extremely low glare and focusing the light where it is needed, to maintain the luxurious feel within the space. LD141 uplights wash light onto the textured surface behind the bespoke screens and headboard to accentuate the intricacy of Zimmer + Rohde’s textured moiré panelled walls and velvet curtains. Complimenting the uplights, compact LD792 downlights were used to highlight key features.

Thank you to Nulty for specifying our fitting for this project.
