Lighting with restraint at The Chancery Rosewood

The best architectural lighting doesn't demand attention. At The Chancery Rosewood, it was designed to let one of London's most distinctive buildings take centre stage.

The transformation of Eero Saarinen's Grade II listed former US Embassy at 30 Grosvenor Square has created one of London's most anticipated luxury hotels and the UK's first five-star hotel to achieve BREEAM Outstanding.

Working with Lighting Design International (LDI), LightGraphix supplied a range of discreet architectural luminaires across the hotel's guest suites, restaurants, public areas and exterior. Precision optics, carefully controlled beam distributions and close integration into the architecture create warmth and visual comfort while allowing the building's materials, details and character to remain the focus.

The lighting narrative continues to the rooftop, where LD20238 Ultra adjustable spotlights were specified to illuminate Theodore Roszak's monumental 11-metre-wide gilded aluminium eagle, revealing one of the building's defining features after dark.

The completed lighting scheme has since been shortlisted in the 2025 [d]arc Awards.
